What is International Nursing Development？
国際看護開発学とは
This field aims to cultivate individuals with outstanding capabilities in education and research who will lead global nursing. In undergraduate education, we collaborate with graduate students to conduct joint lectures with overseas universities online, aiming to enhance intercultural sensitivity. We also provide opportunities for overseas training at the University of Washington in the United States. Furthermore, we support students from the undergraduate level in reading academic papers in English and writing their graduation theses in English.
In graduate education, all seminars and courses are conducted in English, and we actively accept international students to foster a global perspective and help students acquire the academic manners necessary to become internationally competent nursing professionals.
本分野は、世界の看護をリードする卓越した教育・研究遂行能力を持つ人材を育成することを目的としています。学部教育において院生の協力を得て、オンラインにより海外の大学とも共同講義を行い、異文化間感受性能力の向上を目指し、米国ワシントン大学での海外研修を実施しています。また、学部から英語の論文を読み、英語で卒業論文を書けるよう支援しています。大学院教育では英語やゼミはすべて英語で行い、留学生を積極的に受け入れ、国際的視点の滋養と看護国際人に必要なアカデミックマナーの習得を支援しています。
About Us
Our Goals
Amid the differences in healthcare systems and cultural contexts between Japan and the United States, this field seeks to explore systems that are aligned with each country’s realities and societal needs through comparative studies. The goal is to develop nursing care programs and methods that improve the quality of life (QOL) for patients from an international perspective.Collaborative research is being conducted with faculty members from the University of Washington (USA), Universitas Padjadjaran (Indonesia), and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on the international comparison of the relationship between university students’ sense of control and health management behaviors. Additionally, joint research is underway with the University of Texas on a Japan–U.S. comparison regarding the relationship between a sense of control and outcomes in patients with acute coronary syndrome.Furthermore, in collaboration with the University of Washington, we are conducting research on support for nursing educators in Japan to promote globalized education. We are also engaged in research with Cardiff University (UK) and the University of Waikato (New Zealand) to evaluate the outcomes of joint undergraduate lectures.
日米で医療システム・文化的な違いがある中でその比較を通し、各国の実情と社会ニーズに即したシステムを探求し、国際的視点からそれぞれの患者に適したQOLを向上させるための看護ケアプログラム/看護方法の開発を目指しています。米国ワシントン大学、インドネシアのパジャジャラン大学、香港理工大学の教員との共同で、「大学生のコントロール感と健康管理行動との関連について国際比較」、米国テキサス大学の教員と共同研究「急性冠症候群患者のコントロール感とアウトカムの関連について日米比較」を行っています。さらにワシントン大学と共同で日本のグローバル化教育を行うための看護教員に対する支援についての研究、英国のカーディフ大学とニュージーランドのワイカト大学と学部生の共同講義の成果評価に関する研究を行っています。
